Kyndi recently welcomed Jen Grant, CEO of Turbo Systems and former CMO of Looker, to its board of directors. Below is a brief interview with Jen on her decision to join the board and her outlook for the company:
WHY ARE YOU JOINING THE KYNDI BOARD OF DIRECTORS?
I decided to join the Kyndi board of directors based on the quality of the team. It’s an incredibly smart group of people who are building advanced AI software capabilities that allow organizations to find insights previously unavailable in their data.
Also, I’ve worked with Tim Connors, founder of Pivot North, who is also on the Kyndi board of directors – I absolutely trust his business strategy. He has been excited about Kyndi’s prospects for a while. Tim has a wonderful way of thinking about how products can work and fit together and is just a really smart business strategist. That was how the conversation started about Kyndi and the enormous market opportunity for Reading Automation AI.
Then I had the opportunity to meet Ryan Welsh, the founder and CEO. I came away very impressed with Ryan’s vision and the team he has assembled to build the Reading Automation market. His COO, Amy Guarino, has a deep understanding of the customer and the market. My first thought was that this is a team I can partner with to bring my go-to-market expertise to build Kyndi into a key player in AI.
HOW IS YOUR EXPERTISE A MATCH FOR KYNDI?
I’ve spent my career building new categories for new technologies and then building communities around these products. Kyndi’s Reading Automation Engines are singularly designed for developers who need powerful AI that understands long-form text integrated into their applications. As a result, they are bringing an incredibly complex and advanced technological innovation to market. As soon as the team outlined their goal to build a developer community for AI engines, I immediately knew I would love to help with that. I do think AI has tremendous application benefits and there are many things we can do with it that will really move the world forward.
WHAT SHOULD CUSTOMERS BE LOOKING FOR FROM KYNDI?
Reading Automation AI capabilities in their applications. Kyndi gives product teams and developers powerful ‘ready-to-integrate’ computational AI engines to easily integrate into customer or internal applications. It’s quite remarkable what Kyndi has achieved with their ability to understand topics and concepts that enable organizations to extract understanding and value out of the millions of long-form text assets that exist – all without having an army of people trying to read through the information. This is especially critical when you realize the exponential growth in long-form text and how much information the average organization has to review.
WHY DO YOU THINK ORGANIZATIONS SHOULD CONSIDER KYNDI?
The depth of technology expertise that’s needed to build AI applications is too much for a typical product development team. Any organization that is building an application that’s primarily focused on non-AI features is going to find it highly inefficient to hire the expertise and build the infrastructure required to also develop AI capabilities. The opportunity to leverage ready-to-integrate AI engines gives developers time to focus on higher-order features for the core application. Plus, the development time integrating AI into an application is reduced by 95%+, making it possible for organizations to offer more capabilities without the long development cycles.
